Happy October 1st! Fall is my favorite season. I always look forward to the cool
Today, I want to share my Spooky October Reads that I plan on reading this month. It’s going to be a busy month since I’m starting a new school but my goal is to read 3 scary books. Every Halloween, my mom buys a scary book for me. I’ve built up a small collection, and it’s one of my favorite traditions to look forward to each year. I will be re-reading these books, it’s been a long time since I first read them.
Spooky October Reads
The Devouring is the first in a trilogy. After I re-read this I’m going to find the other two books.
Preview: “When Reggie reads about the Vours in a mysterious old journal, she assumes they are just the musings of an anonymous lunatic. But when her little brother, Henry, begins to act strangely, it’s clear that these creatures exist beyond a madwoman’s imagination, and Reggie finds out what happens when fears come to life.
“When dark creeps in and eats the light,
Bury your fears on Sorry Night.
For in the winter’s blanket hours
Comes the feasting of the Vours.
No one can see it, the life they stole,
Your body’s here but not your soul…”
To save the people she loves, Reggie must learn to survive in a world of nightmares. Can she devour her own fears before they devour her?”
This volume consists of three stories. I just found out there are four volumes, totaling seven and a half stories which means I need to catch up on the rest!
In this volume you’ll find: My Soul To Lose, My Soul To Take, and My Soul To Save
Preview: These books follow the main character, Kaylee, who discovers she harbors a sinister talent. When she has an uncontrollable scream, it means someone near her will die. As the story
“If you hunt for monsters, you’ll find them”
Preview: “Eleven years ago, Stella and Jeanie disappeared. Only Stella came back. Now all she wants is a summer full of cove days, friends, and her gorgeous crush – until a fresh corpse leads Stella down a path of ancient evil and secrets.
Stella believes remembering what happened to Jeanie will saver her. It won’t. She used to know better than to believe in what slinks through the shadows. Not anymore.”
